Sauntering in with an elongated guitar solo from the late Jeff Beck that stretches out across a minute and a half, Eric Clapton and Jeff Beck's vision of popular standard "Moon River" is a smouldering soundscape packed full of plenty of bluesy panache. Released following the passing of Jeff Beck on 10 January 2023, "Moon River" was recorded in January 2022 and plays to the pair's individual strengths. The song, which was composed by Henry Mancini with lyrics from Johnny Mercer and originally performed and popularised by Audrey Hepburn in the 1961 classic Breakfast at Tiffany’s, was released on vinyl with a double A-side called "How Could We Know," featuring Judith Hill, Simon Climie, and Daniel Santiago. It was also accompanied by an animated music video. The pair first crossed paths back in 1965 when Jeff Beck took over from Eric Clapton in The Yardbirds and a mutual appreciation began to form.
