“When the stars make you drool / Just like a pasta e fagioli, that's amore / When you dance down the street / With a cloud at your feet, you're in love,” sings Dean Martin a.k.a. The King of Cool who stole a pizza our hearts on his charming 1953 classic, “That’s Amore”; a cheesy slice of romantic pop with an unforgettable chorus: “When the moon hits your eye / Like a big pizza pie, that's amore.” The song, which was written by composer Harry Warren and lyricist Jack Brooks, first appeared on the soundtrack for the Martin and Lewis 1953 comedy film The Caddy and was nominated for an Academy Award that same year. “That’s Amore” has appeared in a number of other movies, including Rear Window (1954), Moonstruck (1987), Bridget Jones's Baby (2016) and more, and remains a karaoke staple.
