17-year-old Callista Clark's career got off to a stellar start in 2021 with the release of her major-label debut, "It's Cause I Am." The song, written by the Georgia-born country wunderkind along with Cameron Jaymes and Laura Veltz and produced by Nathan Chapman, celebrates individuality and self-acceptance with a country-rock lilt and vocal timbre which almost betrays her age: "I can't help that I'm one of a kind / I'm more than meets the eye / If I ain't what you like / Well, that's alright / You want a one-dimensional women / It's okay, I understand / If I seem too complicated for ya, mm / It's 'cause I am," she sings, confidently and evoking an air of Shania Twain.
