Equal parts diss track and publicity stunt, Bizarrap and Shakira's "Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53" spread like wildfire all over the Internet, breaking numerous streaming records and reaching the top spots of the charts in several Spanish-speaking countries. After becoming one of the most streamed artists in the world in the early 2020s through a string of Number 1 hit singles featuring Nicky Jam, Calle 13's Residente, and Quevedo, the Argentine DJ and producer tapped the Colombian pop diva for a collaboration on his famed Bzrp Music Sessions series. The singer, who had recently gone through a turbulent divorce with Spanish footballer Gerard Piqué, gladly accepted the offer and began working on the track with singer-songwriter and collaborator Keityn. An electro pop song with marked EDM influences, "Shakira: Bzrp Music Sessions, Vol. 53" was finally released on January 11, 2023, and received a great deal of media attention, mainly thanks to its several references to Piqué's highly publicized media scandals. It reached Number 1 in 16 countries and was Shakira's first Top 10 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 since 2007's "Beautiful Liar."
