Country superstar Alan Jackson got the idea for “A Man Who Never Cries” from a thank you note. Jackson and newcomer Caylee Hammock teamed up in 2020 for a cover of Don Williams’ classic hit “Lord, I Hope This Day is Good.” Afterward, the young singer sent Jackson a gift and a thank you note saying that her dad wasn’t someone who openly shared his feeling but when she played him their song she saw some tears from a man who never cries. Jackson was inspired by that line to turn it into the song “A Man Who Never Cries” for his long-awaited album Where Have You Gone. “I've been blessed enough in my life / To make up for any strife / If you look closely deep in my eyes / You might see a few happy tears / From a man who never cries.”
