a crooner is, like his inventor Bing crosby, a mail singer with a warm bariton voice. That excludes all female and tenor singers!

I look forward to seeing of course 'Torch Songs', however some of the crooner's sound fabulous in a female key. It would be nice to have a sultry selection of male and female classics to showcase to an Dinner Club audience.

On a positive note - I am very happy to have available the good quality tracks this site provides, and the fact the key can be changed a little (although sometimes the sound quality suffers too much with this). I also like the bonus points system. Agreeing with much of the feedback here - particularly jennylyngriff. Classic songs should be available in male and female keys. When you have to change the key on an mp3 track, the sound quality can be lost to the point that it's unusable. I hope "Karaoke Version" takes action on this feedback.

I would love to see some more of Engelbets stuff, he is the king of croone in my book. Just got "Love Me With all Your Heart". GREAT VERSION. Love Engleberts version on anything romantic. I'm with you Jenny, more Doris...

Hey let's not argue about semantics, let's enjoy the music. Thanks to Karaoke version for making all this stuff available. I do anywhere from five to fifteen shows a week (in various styles but mostly the early Sinatra/Dick Haymes/early Vic Damone/Dean etc.) so I don't have time to sequence my material in my home studio. Hey Jenny, I love Doris too, she was great. Ella was the queen of them all. To all who love the great American songs of the early to mid 20th century, let's keep this stuff alive. Heck, I'm trying to write more of it!

I can't believe it! What rule book says that men only are crooners? I'm a female and I've been "accused" of being a crooner all my life, as if it's something I should be ashamed of! Personally I'm very proud of it, even more so because I adore the songs. But what I'm really tired of is having to resort to buying the tracks produced for males and having to alter the key in order to sing them! I have a brilliant programme that does the job, but there is a limit. Sometimes it works great; at others it ends up sounding like a rave from the grave or pinky and perky! There were some fabulous female crooners, but no one seems to bother with them now! One in particular comes to mind for me - Doris Day. She was a fabulous singer and actress, and a crooner! She often worked with Sinatra, and made him look pale in comparison! Let's face it: the women always had to be better, just to compete! But when do I ever find her backing tracks?! As far as I'm concerned, her version of "Fly Me To The Moon" is infinitely better than Sinatra's, but I've never found it. I don't really care what singer's version of a song I'm getting, as long as it's the right song in the right style (crooner) and in a FEMALE KEY!!! If you're producing a "crooner" song, why don't you produce it in a choice of keys - male and female?!

Nothing by Mel Torme, Andy Williams, or Johnny Mathis? Maybe in volume II

Happy to see crooning music. I assume you will be focusing on female torch songs too! Loooovvvvvveeeee it!

Response to Ravenscar...in case you hadn't noticed each one of the "crooners" listed were male. I think that the folks at Karaoke version know that crooning belongs to the male land of singers ... so how about it, could we ladies have some torch tune please...boop boop be doop pah!

Get your heads strait people. Men are Crooners, Women are Torch singers.

                                      What about FEMALE Crooners?
