Amazing Grace

“Amazing grace, how sweet the sound...” So begins one of the most popular hymns in the English language. The author of the lyrics was John Newton (1725-1807), the self-proclaimed wretch who once was lost but then was found, saved by amazing grace.
This classic air of Gospel singers and Scotland was made famous by many artists like Elvis Presley, Janis Joplin, Ray Charles, Carlos Santana, Neville Brothers, Celine Dion, Boyz II Men, Destiny's Child...
It was sung at the funeral of American president Ronald Reagan.
