"Toes" is a song by American country music group Zac Brown Band. It was released as the third single from their first album and major-label debut The Foundation (2008) on July 6, 2009. Written by lead singer Zac Brown and bassist John Driskell Hopkins with additional help by longtime collaborators Shawn Mullins and Wyatt Durrette, "Toes" tells the story of an American citizen taking a trip from Georgia to Mexico, where he leads a carefree lifestyle until he runs out of money. Upon his return to the United States, he continues to relax by the lake with a can of beer by his side. The song's hedonistic overtones have drawn comparisons to the style of singer-songwriter Jimmy Buffett, who went on to become a staple of American pop culture through his 1977 career-defining hit, "Margaritaville." Shortly after its commercial release, "Toes" became the band's second consecutive Number 1 song on the US country charts and was certified triple-platinum by the RIAA.
