"Blueberry Hill" is a classic American tune written in 1940 by composer Vincent Rose and lyricists Larry Stock and Al Lewis. It has been covered countless times, with legendary Irish musician Van Morrison recording his own version for his 45th studio album, Accentuate the Positive. The LP, which included his favorite rock and roll, country, and rhythm and blues songs, was released in 2023. Sammy Kaye was the first artist to record it on May 31, 1940, on RCA Victor. The song saw numerous renditions that year, notably by Gene Krupa and Mary Small, but it was Glenn Miller's version that reached number 2 on the US charts, becoming the decade's highlight. Though initially popularized in the 1940s, "Blueberry Hill" reached iconic status in the 1950s with Fats Domino's rock and roll interpretation, which remains its most enduring rendition. The track has also been used extensively in numerous films, including The Man Who Fell to Earth (1976), 12 Monkeys (1995), and Capone (2020).
