Doomy goth-rock miserablists Type O Negative earned their title "the Drab Four" through sheer dedication to the gothic cause, covering gloomy subjects like death, horror, and everything in between, across seven albums. Who else would think up a title as sickly as The Origin of the Feces? For their ballad-heavy fourth album, October Rust (1996), the band got to grips with a cover of "Cinnamon Girl" by Neil Young as well as opening the LP with a "joke intro" via "Bad Ground" and its 38 seconds of white noise. Tucked away towards the bottom of October Rust is "Wolf Moon", or "Wolf Moon (Including Zoanthropic Paranoia)" to give it its full title, on which lead vocalist Peter Steele howls and growls at the moon on this vivid, bloody track about his thirst for performing cunnilingus on menstruating lovers ("Unholy water / Sanguine addiction / Those silver bullets / A last blood benediction").
