After displaying his versatility on the reality singing competition Britain's Got Talent in 2022, English singer Tom Ball wowed both judges and audience once again with a rendition of Radiohead's seminal 1993 single "Creep," which he performed at the 2023 America's Got Talent All-Stars show. The British singer, formerly a high school teacher, had already made waves with his cover of Simon and Garfunkel's "The Sound of Silence." Tom Ball's performance of "Creep" brings the song, originally a grunge-influenced guitar-rock anthem, into the realm of piano power-ballad. With swelling synth strings instead of distorted electric guitar, the song takes on an almost spiritual tone as Tom Ball's soaring vocals reach the song's emotional climax. "Creep" was originally written by Radiohead as well as Albert Hammond and Mike Hazlewood, who got songwriting credits after suing the band for taking elements of their 1972 song "The Air That I Breathe."
