"The Snow Miser Song" is a song included in the Rankin/Bass Productions Christmas television special The Year Without a Santa Claus, originally broadcast on December 10, 1974. The song was written by Maury Laws and Jules Bass, and sung by actor and comedian Dick Shawn in the role of the Snow Miser. The song is performed in a big-band jazz style and describes the interaction between Mrs. Claus and the Snow Miser, a character that controls the weather in the Northern Hemisphere and who is at odds with his brother, the Heat Miser, played by George S. Irving. When the elves and Mrs. Claus ask the Snow Miser if he could send snow to Southtown for a day in order to get their reindeer back, he replies that he can't because it's his brother's territory. Finally, they reach a compromise after Mother Nature intercedes. "The Snow Miser Song" also appeared in the 2006 live-action remake of the film, which featured Michael McKean as the Snow Miser and Harvey Fierstein as the Heat Miser.
