The Voice is a song by English rockers The Moody Blues. The group already had a long and illustrious career by the time they recorded their 1981 album Long Distance Voyager. In fact, they had become known for an evolving sound that incorporated elements of experimentation, and Long Distance Voyager continued the trend. The first single from the album, "Gemini Dream," had been a success for the band, but nothing could prepare them for the success of The Voice.” The track became a Top 40 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, peaking at Number 15. Featuring futuristic-sounding synths and keyboards, as well as an energetic performance by the group, The Voice felt like peering into the future of music. Written by Moody Blues frontman Justin Hayward and produced by frequent collaborator Philip “Pip” Williams, "The Voice" propelled its parent album Long Distance Voyager to Number 1 on the Billboard 200.
