"There's No Me Without You" is the title track from The Manhattan's fifth studio album. The popular R&B vocal group is best known for their million-selling hits "Kiss and Say Goodbye" and "Shining Star." This earlier release reached #3 on the Billboard R&B chart. It's the perfect blend of passionate lyrics and soulful vocals, a signature sound that has resonated with fans worldwide. Group members George "Smitty" Smith, Edward "Sonny" Bivins, Winfred "Blue" Lovett, Kenny "Wally" Kelly, and Richard "Ricky" Taylor met while students in Jersey City, NJ, high schools in the early 60s. After serving in the military, the five formed a group, released albums, and toured the US. They met singer and pre-med student Gerald Alston while on tour and asked him to join the group. He declined the offer but later became the group's lead singer after Smith became ill. Smith died of a brain tumor in 1970 at the age of 30.
The backing track for "There's No Me Without You" is available with background vocals or as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
