Penned by the band's Don Henley and Glenn Frey, Eagles scored a hit and a Grammy Award in 1975 with their countryfied, mandolin-infused folk amble "Lyin' Eyes". Achieving crossover success, the track made it to Number 2 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and Number 8 on the Billboard Country chart, and was inspired by the band's real-life encounters at one of their favorite LA watering holes, Dan Tana's. "Lyin' Eyes" tells the tale of an apparent gold digger, with Glenn Frey singing lead vocals and the band coming together for the toe-tapping chorus: "You can't hide your lyin' eyes / And your smile is a thin disguise / I thought by now you'd realize / There ain't no way to hide your lyin' eyes." "Lyin" Eyes" was the second single from the band's album One of These Nights, for which they received a Grammy Award for Best Pop Vocal Performance by a Duo, Group or Chorus, while also being nominated for Record of the Year.

New version is a nice improvement. Instruments sound a lot brighter and have a more crisp sound. Although I have gotten very used to using the older version I definitely will be replacing it in my lineup
