Spiced with bright horns and pulled along by The Band's soulful rock grooves, on "Ophelia" – a potential reference to Shakespeare's Ophelia or comedian Minnie Pearl – the Canadian-American troupe asks: "Ophelia / Where have you gone?" to the song's titular protagonist who has appeared to have skipped town. "Was it something that somebody said? / Mama, I know we broke the rules / Was somebody up against the law? / Honey, you know I'd die for you," they ponder in the chorus. "Ophelia" was written by The Band's Robbie Robertson and was released as the lead single by The Band on their 1975 album Northern Lights – Southern Cross and was often played live, immortalized in the notorious final 1976 show that was featured in concert film The Last Waltz. "Ophelia" has been covered by artists including Animal Liberation Orchestra, Jim Byrnes and My Morning Jacket.
