"Leave My Girl Alone" is a song from Stevie Ray Vaughan from 1989's In Step. It would be the last studio album from the talented blues artist who died in a helicopter crash in 1990 at the age of 35. Vaughan had a soulful voice and a distinctive guitar playing style. He started playing guitar at seven, inspired by his older brother, guitarist Jimmy Vaughan. Stevie struggled with drug addiction for most of his life but had recently completed a successful stay in rehab. The album's title can be interpreted as working the steps of his newfound sobriety. In his short life, he toured with his band Double Trouble, and released albums that turned a whole new generation into blues music. "Leave My Girl Alone" is a cover of a song by blues legend Buddy Guy.
