Shakira penned this heartfelt love letter to her sons, Milan and Sasha, in 2023 as a standalone single in time for Mother's Day. The song takes the form of an acrostic poem, where the initial letters of each line spell out a word or name when read vertically. "Acróstico" spells out “Milán” in the first verse and “Sasha” in the second while also making references to Shakira's separation from her former partner, the Spanish football player Gerard Pique, with whom she was partnered or 12 years. Co-written by Shakira, Keityn, Lexuz and other contributions at La Creme, “Acróstico” delivers a poignant message of motherly love and strength via a pared-back piano ballad, which lets Shakira's voice do the talking. The track marked the first solo single from Shakira since 2014 and her powerful comeback following the release of 2022 reggaeton heater "Te Felicito," created in collaboration with the "King of modern reggaeton" Rauw Alejandro and the fresh-sounding "Monotonía" with Puerto Rican star Ozuna.
