A short, sharp blast of invigorating pop-punk is the order of the day in this centrepiece from the latest television embodiment of the Scooby-Doo franchise, What's New, Scooby-Doo? which this time finds the show's four intrepid travellers—Fred, Daphne, Velma, and Shaggy—harnessing the power of technology for their mystery-shaped adventures. In 2019, Scooby-Doo famously became available on Netflix in the US before heading over to HBO Max three years later. Canadian rockers Simple Plan aka Pierre Bouvier, Chuck Comeau, Jeff Stinco, and Sébastien Lefebvre were tasked with creating the original What's New, Scooby-Doo? 2002 theme tune while putting their fingerprints all over the show; not only do they perform the Rich J Dickerson and Luigi Meroni-penned theme song as themselves in the episode "Simple Plan and the Invisible Madman" but two of their own songs ("I'd Do Anything" and "You Don't Mean Anything") are also featured in the series.
