Canadian progressive rock band Rush went through a period in the 1980s where every new song they released seemed to push rock music forward in bold, daring ways. The release of their eleventh album Power Windows in 1985 continued the group’s exploration of synthesizer-based music, melding the new sounds of synths with the group’s trademark powerful rock music. The Big Money,” for example, used the innovative technique of sampling drummer Neil Peart’s voice using an AMS sampler, then triggered by his drum kit. The song was written by Neil Peart, Alex Lifeson, and Geddy Lee. The lyrics are said to have been written by Neil Peart, who was attempting to explore the topic of how "big money" (wealthy corporations) have an outsized influence on trade and the modern global economy. The Big Money was produced by Rush along with Peter Collins. The song reached Number 4 on the US Billboard Mainstream Rock chart, as well as Number 45 on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Please change my vote to 5 stars. The main synth runs in the beginning and end aren't sustained as they should be, but I'm able to play over them and you can't even tell. Other than that, this is a REALLY REALLY GOOD track that took a tremendous amount of work to complete.
