Louisiana implant Robert Mizzell calls Ireland his home and it's there that he has forged a successful career as a country artist since first putting himself on the map with the Tommy Swarbrigg-penned "Kick Ass Country" in 2002 and homegrown hit “Say You Love Me." He made the transatlantic trip back to his homeland twenty years later with this plaid-covered slice of upbeat Nashville country fare written by Marty Brown, Stan Webb, and Richard Oren Young. "I'm from the Country" was initially released as a single by Texas balladeer Tracy Byrd in February 1998 as the title track from his album I'm from the Country. Robert Mizzell revisited the song in 2023, which followed hot on the heels that year of single "Jiving on the Old Dance Floor" and 2022's "Poor House." 2022 also saw the release of his album Make a Little and the 2021 full-length predecessor, Forever Country with Family & Friends.
