Orange County ska-punk heroes Reel Big Fish skanked their way to one of their best – and most refreshingly different – cover versions in their back catalog with "Brown Eyed Girl." Imbuing Van Morrison's 1967-born signature track – which was inducted into the Grammy Hall of Fame in January 2007 – with frenetic, lighting-quick punk energy, plenty of brassy horns, and a whole new arrangement that leaps all over the place, the band refracted the song's folkloric-esque lyrics ("Now whatever happened, to Tuesday ... so slow / Goin' down the old man with a transistor radio / Standin' in the sunlight laughing, hiding 'hind the rainbow wall / Slippin' and a slidin', hey, hey, all along the waterfall") through the '00s musical lens. "Brown Eyed Girl" was featured on the band's 2009 cover album, Fame, Fortune and Fornication, which also featured versions of tracks by the Eagles ("The Long Run") Tom Petty ("Won't Back Down"), Slade ("Mama We're All Crazy Now"), and other artists.
