Grammy-winning "Everything Is Beautiful" hit-maker Ray Stevens reached for his funny bone on this humour-doused novelty song from 1987. Written by the late Memphis-born songwriter and Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame inductee Paul Craft—who originally recorded and released the bizarro track as a single in the mid-1970s—"It's Me Again, Margaret" lends its focus to the phenomenon of obscene phone calls; a form of harassment that was rife in the days before caller I.D. let you trace the culprit. In this somewhat outdated musical tale of wretchedness, the perpetrator gets "cuffed" and "dragged to the station downtown", but ultimately ends up using his one phone call to continue the torment. "It's Me Again, Margaret" was the third single released from Ray Stevens's 1984 album He Thinks He's Ray Stevens but became better known when it was included on the Ray Stevens's 1992 Comedy Video Classics release.
