"Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" is a song from Canadian singer-songwriter Shania Twain's celebrated third album, Come on Over (1997). Co-penned with her then-husband and regular collaborator, Robert John "Mutt" Lange, the track is an infectious country-pop tune with lyrics that celebrate female empowerment. The creative spark for the song's title and narrative derived from a poignant chapter in Twain's life. After the tragic loss of her parents in a car accident, she was thrust into the role of provider for her siblings. While working at Deerhurst Resort in Huntsville, Ontario, she encountered drag performers. Their spirit and vitality inspired her, sowing the seeds for this empowering track. The song rapidly became one of Shania Twain's most recognized worldwide, made its debut on North American country radios in March 1999 as the eighth single from the album, before garnering international acclaim later that year. Over the following years, "Man! I Feel Like a Woman!" was covered by several other artists, including Carrie Underwood and Postmodern Jukebox, who recorded a jazz-tinged version for their 2023 album, The Fourth Tuning.
