Poison throw caution to the wind for their 1991 high-voltage glam rock-meets-metal take on Western themes. The Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania crew coming hurtling through with "hearts of fire" to "taste the wild," before they shriek through the chorus: "Ride the wind / Never coming back until I touch the midnight sun / Ride the wind / Never coming back again / Ride the wind / Never coming back until I touch the midnight sun," they sing, also chucking in a hellraising guitar solo for good measure on this freewheeling ode to a life lived under the open sky. "Ride the Wind" was the third single from Poison's 1990 studio album Flesh & Blood, which was released on Capitol, conceived two hit singles ("Unskinny Bop" and "Something to Believe In,") and was certified Platinum in 1990 and Triple Platinum in 1991 by the RIAA. The single reached Number 25 on the mainstream rock charts and peaked at Number 38 on the Billboard Hot 100.
