US rapper NF kicked off his career in 2010, first under his real name of Nathan Feuerstein before inaugurating his NF alias with the EPs I'm Free(2012), and a self-titled EP in 2014 with Capitol CMG. Approaching his songwriting like a therapy session, he has always used his music as a vehicle to explore painful emotions like grief, expressing anger at his late mother's overdose in “How Could You Leave Us,” before later making peace with her death in “MAMA." On "Hope," he continues to show his vulnerable side with piano chords bringing an emotional quality to an already emotional song about triumphing over inner conflicts, ultimately concluding: "To be the greatest version of yourself, sometimes you got to be someone you're not to hear the voice of reason." This popular tune from 2023 was released as the lead single from NF's fifth studio LP of the same name and was written with Tommee Profitt.
