"I'll Make a Man Out of You" is one of the most popular songs from Disney's animated film Mulan. The lead vocal is by Donny Osmond who got his start in the music business singing "You Are My Sunshine" on The Andy Williams Show when he was only 5 years old. He became a teen idol with hits "Go Away Little Girl" and "Puppy Love" and then starred on Broadway as Joseph in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat and in Beauty and the Beast. Osmond's Mulan character gets hit in the stomach during "I'll Make a Man Out of You" so during the recording of the song, the singer punched himself in the stomach to get a believable vocal sound. The song was co-written and produced by Matthew Wilder. He had a huge 80's hit with "Break My Stride," a song that has unexpectedly become one of the most popular songs on TikTok.
