Clocking in at nearly ten minutes, this anti-war epic from Metallica is the title track of their mammoth and complex fourth studio album from 1988, which saw the metal gods turn proggier, more epic, and even angrier. It was also the band's first LP to feature bassist Jason Newsted, following the death of their previous bassist Cliff Burton who tragically died in a bus crash in 1986.
