Lady A send out a spiritual postcard on their spellbinding interpretation of traditional English carol "The First Noel." Singer Hillary Scott kicks off with the first verse ("The First Noel, the angels did say / Was to certain poor shepherds in fields where they lay / In fields where they lay keeping their sheep / On a cold winter's night that was so deep") – backed by low-key acoustic guitar from Dave Haywood – before Charles Kelley chimes in for the chorus, resulting in a luscious two-part harmony ("Noël, Noël, Noël, Noël / Born is the King of Israel"). As a filmic string arrangement slides into view, the pair join their voices for the second verse ("They looked up and saw a star / Shining in the East beyond them far / And to the earth, it gave great light / And so it continued both day and night") on a somber seasonal delight which they performed live on the CMA Country Christmas program in December 2012 and which they included on Christmas album On This Winter's Night.
