When Irish-Norwegian new age duo Secret Garden recorded "You Raise Me Up" with Irish singer Brian Kennedy for their 2001 album Once in A Red Moon, they couldn't have forseen the colossal impact the song would go on to make. Since its release, over 100 artists have turned in unique cover versions of the track composed by Rolf Løvland, written by Brendan Graham, and inspired by spirtuality. Josh Groban's take is up there among the most triumphant, recorded by the then-burgeoning star with the tenor Craig Von Vennik of the Establishment and famously performed in 2004 at the Super Bowl XXXVIII as part of a NASA commemoration of the Space Shuttle Columbia disaster. Josh Groban made his version of "Raise Me Up" famous with several other key live performances, including a surprise gig at Oprah Winfrey's 50th birthday. Produced by the legendary David Foster, this operatic pop epic was featured on Josh Groban's hit 2003 album Closer.
