"Walking on Sunshine" was originally written by Katrina and the Waves' Kimberly Rew, the guitarist and main songwriter in the band, for the group's debut self-titled album of 1983 and the band scored their first US Top 40 with the single, which also cracked the Top 10 on home soil.
