"Get in the Ring" is a song by the American hard rock band Guns N' Roses, released on their 1991 double album Use Your Illusion II. Originally titled "Why Do You Look at Me When You Hate Me?," the song was written by bassist Duff McKagan with additional input from lead vocalist Axl Rose and lead guitarist Slash. Starting off with a series of chants from the audience (recorded during one of the band's 1991 Saratoga Springs concerts), "Get in the Ring" quickly builds up into an incendiary number in which Axl Rose sings about his frustration with the media's constant scrutiny and criticism of the band. He specifically targets several music journalists and magazines that have written negative articles about the band, challenging them to a physical altercation. Towards the end of the song, Axl Rose dedicates the song to all of the Guns N' Roses fans that stuck with the band throughout the years.
