"Everlong" is a song by American rock band Foo Fighters, included in their second full-length album, The Colour and the Shape (1997). The track was written by Dave Grohl after he stumbled into a slightly dissonant guitar riff that he initially described as a "Sonic Youth rip-off." It would take him only 45 minutes to turn that riff into a fully-fledged song during a visit to a friend's house in his native Virginia. Later that year, he recorded an early demo playing all instruments on his own at a friend's studio nearby Washington D.C. Inspired by Dave Grohl's relationship with Veruca Salt's Louise Post, "Everlong" was then properly recorded at Grandmaster Records in Hollywood with the rest of the band members. The song features background vocals by Louise Post who was in Chicago at the time and had to record her part over the phone. It was officially released as a single on August 18, 1997, and peaked at Number 4 on the US Mainstream Rock chart. In the following years, "Everlong" went on to become one of the Foo Fighters' signature songs and was the last song drummer Taylor Hawkins played live with the group before his death in March 2022.

Guitars have a lot of midrange which makes it sound muddy but otherwise, a good solid track.
