Florence + The Machine slipped on the notorious fur coat of evil London heiress and greedy fashion designer Cruella de Vil to sing the soundtrack for 2021 Disney movie Cruella, which stars Emma Stone as the titular character. "Cruella de Vil, Cruella de Vil / She's born to be bad, so run for the hills / Cruella de Vil, Cruella de Vil / The fear on your face, it gives me a thrill," exhales Florence Welch on the intro to smokey late-night creeper, "Call me Cruella," which takes rhythmic inspiration from the original 1961 film's title song, "Cruella de Vil" and captures some of the nocturnal rock energy of London in the '60s and '70s. The song was even recorded using vintage recording equipment and analog tape at Abbey Road and AIR Studios in London. "Call me Cruella" was featured in the movie, as well as on its accompanying original motion picture soundtrack and Nicholas Britell's original score album.
