My Immortal - Evanescence - MP3 instrumental karaoke

Nu-metal band Evanescence released the powerful piano ballad "My Immortal" in 2003 as the third single from their debut album Fallen. The song was written by the band's co-founders Amy Lee and Ben Moody when they were just teenagers, and over the years has evolved through various versions since its earliest recording in 1997. Crafted as a piano power ballad and featuring haunting lyrics about grief and loss, the song strikes a chord with its musical composition and Amy Lee's emotive vocals. The version that made it into Fallen featured Amy Lee's demo vocals and a MIDI keyboard. This was against her wishes, as she had since matured as a singer and felt disconnected from that earlier rendition. Wind-up Records insisted on this version; however, the band later re-recorded the song featuring new vocals and keyboards as well as a more full rock sound with drums, bass, guitars, and strings. "My Immortal" was an international success, topping charts in Canada, Greece, and Portugal, and securing a Grammy nomination in 2005 for Best Pop Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocals.
