De Toppers is a Dutch Europop supergroup formed in 2005 in the Netherlands. Consisting of René Froger, Gerard Joling, Jeroen van der Boom, and Jan Smit, the group became known for their live performances (which were extensively documented in the record-breaking Toppers in Concert, the longest-running concert series in the Benelux area) as well as for their cover versions of popular songs. Such is the case of "New Disco Grooves Medley," a 5' 43'' track that finds the band putting their unique spin on Katy Perry's "Roar," Michael Jackson's "Love Never Felt So Good," and Bruno Mars' "Uptown Funk." Even though "New Disco Grooves Medley" wasn't released as a promotional single, its parent album Toppers in Concert 2015 climbed to the top of the Dutch charts, staying there for two consecutive weeks and obtaining Gold certification in the Netherlands. It was De Toppers' second chart-topping album after the platinum-selling Toppers in Concert 2007.
