The group called the album Con Funk Shun 7 to mark its seven members as well as drawing significance from the number seven as representing renaissance and rebirth. Con Funk Shun later enjoyed their own rebirth when their 1982 single "Love's Train" was covered by contemporary super duo Silk Sonic, aka Anderson .Paak and Bruno Mars.
