Harry Belafonte's "Mary's Boy Child" is a Christmas classic that was first recorded and released in 1956. Originally written by composer Jester Hairston, "Mary's Boy Child" describes the events leading up to Jesus' birth, including the journey of Mary and Joseph to Bethlehem and the birth of Jesus in a stable. Thanks to the song's popularity, Harry Belafonte became the first Black male to have a Number 1 in the UK. With its catchy calypso-inspired melody and uplifting lyrics, "Mary's Boy Child" quickly became a holiday favorite and has been covered by numerous artists over the years. Such is the case of German-based disco outfit Boney M., who released it alongside the single "Oh My Lord" in November 1978. Produced by Frank Farian, Boney M.'s version topped the UK Singles Charts for four weeks and was later included in their 1981 holiday LP, Christmas Album. The band would release a remix version of the song in 1988, reaching Number 52 in the United Kingdom.

i would like to have richer music background, not it's a bit thin when compare to the original music piece.
