"Into the Void" is a song by the heavy metal band Black Sabbath from their album Master of Reality. Ozzy Osbourne sings about man's destruction of the earth from pollution and wars. He ends the song with freedom fighters leaving the dying planet in hopes of finding a better place. "Leave the earth to Satan and his slaves / Leave them to their future in the grave / Make a home where love is there to stay / Peace and happiness in every day." To get the extra heavy sound of the song, guitarist Tony Iommi and bassist Geezer Butler tuned their instruments down a step and a half. Besides being a favorite of Iommi, the song is also Metallica frontman James Hetfield’s favorite Sabbath song. The classic guitar riff was also a favorite of Eddie Van Halen.
The backing track for "Into the Void" is available with background vocals or as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
