Billy Ward and his Dominoes blazed a trail for R&B with their 1951 record "Sixty Minute Man," which is widely considered to be one of the earliest and most influential landmarks for rock 'n' roll. Written by Billy Ward and Rose Marks, the song combines blues, R&B and gospel elements, as well as a good dose of saucy humor that's baked into the climactic chorus: "There'll be fifteen minutes of kissin' / Then you'll holler "Please don't stop" (Don't stop!) / There'll be fifteen minutes of teasin' / Fifteen minutes of squeezin' / And fifteen minutes of blowin' my top.“ A roaring success, "Sixty Minute Man" crossed over to the pop charts and stuck around in Billboard Magazine's rhythm & blues Top 10 for a whopping 30 consecutive weeks. Since its release, the song has popped up in the 1988 romantic comedy sports movie Bull Durham, starring Kevin Costner, Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, in the 1989 drama movie Gross Anatomy, and on various other occasions.
