Sweet Child o’ Mine is a song from Guns N’ Roses. It was the third single from their debut album Appetite for Destruction and is their only song to hit the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. What became an iconic rock song was started as a joke. At a band rehearsal, Guitarist Slash was playing a little circus melody on his guitar while making faces at drummer Steven Adler. Rhythm guitarist Izzy Stradlin asked Slash to play it again and then bassist Duff McKagan joined in. Singer Axel Rose was listening from his room upstairs and wrote the lyrics the next afternoon. During the recording of the song the producer Spencer Proffer suggested they do a musical break down. While listening to the playback and trying to figure out what to sing, Rose started saying, “Where do we go? Where do we go now?” And the producer suggested that he should just sing that, creating one of the coolest parts of the already incredible song.  The backing track for Sweet Child o’ Mine is available with background vocals or as an instrumental. Only little constructive criticism, the snare sounds a bit plastic. Impressed with the rest.
