The album was produced by James Anthony Carmichael, who had previously worked with several Motown acts, including the Commodores, The Jackson 5, Diana Ross, and Marvin Gaye. "Send For Me," has a smooth soul vibe with a lead vocal by Wayne Lewis. The lyric is about loving someone so much that even though they've decided to leave, you want them to know you'll always be there for them. "If you ever need me baby (send for me) / I'm just a telephone call away (send for me)" The group went on to release several chart-topping hits, including "Circles," "Secret Lovers," and "Always."
