"Roller" is a song by Canadian rock band April Wine. It was released as a single in 1979 and went on to become one of their most beloved songs. Originally written by lead singer Myles Goodwyn in 1976, "Roller" is a stomping hard rock number whose lyrics make extensive use of gambling terminology to describe a man's obsession with an upper-class woman. It was originally included in their seventh studio album First Glance (1978), which became the band's first Gold record outside of their native Canada. The track practically revived April Wine's career in the US as they soon found themselves landing opening slots for Rush, Journey, and Styx. Shortly after its release, "Roller" reached Number 34 on the Billboard Hot 100 and Number 24 on Canada's RPM Top Singles. Additionally, it has been featured in several feature films such as Joe Dirt (2001), Machine Gun Preacher (2011), Grown Ups 2 (2013), and Game Night (2018).
