Here, Andy Williams aka Mr. Christmas (named for the festive albums he released over the years and his symbiotic relationship with snow-topped favourite, "It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year") conjures summer love and that special spot. "And the sweet secret of a summer place / Is that it's anywhere when two people share / All their hopes, all their dreams, all their love," he croons on this romantic interpretation of an old-time gem. "A Summer Place" was originally written by Mack Discant with music by Max Steiner specifically for the 1959 Sandra Dee-starring film A Summer Place. Andy Williams put his stamp on the song in 1962 and released it as a single. Other vocal interpretations of the track came from the likes of Julie London and Bobby Vinton while The Ventures and Chet Atkins turned it into an instrumental number.
