Soul icon Al Green was at the peak of his powers when he wrote "L-O-V-E (Love)", having unknowingly laid claim to two of the genre's most enduring gems in "Tired of Being Alone" and "Let's Stay Together", and basking in the glory of his sixth consecutive number-one album on the R&B/Soul Albums chart. As if the prolific hit-maker needed any more chart-toppers under his belt, he scored yet another one with "L-O-V-E", featured on his 1975 album Al Green is Love.
