Like many aspiring artists in the country music business, Louisiana native Lainey Wilson moved to Nashville, Tennessee, in order to pursue a career as a singer-songwriter in 2011. Of course, things weren't easy at first; she had to live in a trailer right outside a recording studio and play small shows to make ends meet. After releasing an eponymous studio debut in 2014 and a second album titled Tougher in 2016, she signed with BBR Music Group and released the EP Redneck Hollywood (2019), which garnered praises from specialized media outlets and foreshadowed the arrival of her mainstream breakthrough with the Top 10 single "Things a Man Oughta Know" in 2021. That year, her third studio full-length Sayin' What I'm Thinkin' reached Number 40 on Billboard's country charts. The album included the track "Rolling Stone," a song about Lainey Wilson's breakup with her high school boyfriend, written with Tammi Kidd and Brent Anderson.
