Born and raised in the red dirt clay of America's south Alabama, Brandon Coleman (lead vocals/guitar), Drew Nix (vocals/electric guitar/harmonica), Zach Rishel (electric guitar), Andrew Bishop (bass), and John Hall (drums) have been making music together as The Red Clay Strays since 2016 but achieved their breakthrough hit in 2022 with the single "Wondering Why," taken from their talked-about LP Moment of Truth. "Don't Care" also appeared on Moment of Truth as a bluesy, lighters-in-the-air southern rock stormer anchored by a powerful chorus. The rousing track features the sorrowful refrain, "Well, I've lived my life and I don't care if I die / Yes, I've lived my life and I don't care if I die," striking a melancholic chord while spiralling into the abyss with dynamic rock instrumentation. Moment of Truth was followed by the band's 2023 single for country video channel Western AF, "Sunshine."
