Mississippi-raised country artist Randy Houser began laying down roots in the early 2000s and issued a string of talked-about albums including his career-boosting third album How Country Feels. For the follow-up to his 2019 LP Magnolia, the "Anything Goes" hit-maker added more soulful and relatable country fare to his repertoire with this driving anthem that speaks the truth about real love. The song, a traditional country rocker that surges forward with intensity, is built from a cache of well-known sayings to convey a reflect existential air: "Love ain't diamond rings / Bigger don't always mean better / The grass ain't always green / Money don't grow on trees ever / Can't make somebody bе made for ya / God ain't gonna do the praying for ya / Whiskey's bеst left up there on a shelf," as he sings in the chorus.
