Born in Buffalo and raised in Nashville, US singer-songwriter Caitlin Koch took her first steps on the first season of Simon Cowell's The X-Factor USA before making her mark with her first EP, I Am, in 2017, which she co-wrote, self-produced, and recorded in Nashville. Her repertoire of cover songs has served as the foundation for much of her career; she gained traction online for remakes of "Creep" by Radiohead, "Little Red Corvette" by Prince, and many other picks. In 2016, she bridged an Ella James blues classic, "I'd Rather Go Blind"—which was written by Ellington Jordan and included co-writing credits for Billy Foster and Etta James—with a country classic, "Tennessee Whiskey." The latter hit was penned by Dean Dillon and Linda Hargrove and immortalised by David Allan Coe in 1981, but Chris Stapleton later stole the show with his R&B-adjacent version of the song, contained on his 2015 debut studio album Traveller.
