"Wildwood Days" is an early rock and roll song by Bobby Rydell. It was written by hitmakers Kal Mann and Dave Appel. The two are responsible for several classic songs from the early rock era, including Chubby Checkers'"Let's Twist Again" and The Dovells' "Bristol Stomp." "Wildwood Days" is a song about the town of Wildwood, New Jersey. The Jersey shore town was known for early rock and roll shows. "Rock Around the Clock," by Bill Haley & His Comets (often cited as the first rock and roll song) was first performed in Wildwood on Memorial Day weekend in 1954. In the song "Wildwood Days," Rydell describes a fantastic place where "every day's a holiday and every night is a Saturday night." He's echoed by enthusiastic female background vocalists singing, "Wildwood Days!" The song reached number 17 on Billboard's Hot 100 and eventually became Wildwood's official city anthem.
The backing track for "Wildwood Days" is available with background vocals or as an instrumental on Karaoke Version.
